Overview
This handsome classic Museum dial watch from Movado is the essence of style. It features a round black dial with silver tone Dauphine hands and a single dot marker at the twelve o’clock position. This is the minimalist look made famous for Movado by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. Horwitt intended his design to be evocative of a sun dial, with the dot representing the sun at high noon. The dial is set in an ultra-thin stainless steel case and bezel. This is my first true “luxury” watch, and I have come to really appreciate the precision and engineering that goes into a watch of this caliber. When I first handled the watch, I was really shocked how heavy it felt in my hands and on my arm. Not heavy like a cumbersome weight, but the kind of heaviness that denotes quality and durability. The design of this watch has a simple elegance that also really appeals to me. I struggled between the red face and the more classic black face, but ultimately chose the red face because I felt the black face gave the watch a somewhat generic appearance. The red is certainly more unique in my opinion and stands out more than the black. The black face, of course, will match your clothing and accessories easier than the red face will, if that sort of thing matters to you. I ultimately decided that since my watch is covered by my sleeve the majority of the time I might as well pick a color that appeals to me the most. Read more...

I selected this ESQ Beacon Chronograph from an assortment of available watches available as part of a 40 year Service Award from my place of employment. I’ve always been a watch person and regularly looked for new watches until my Dear One gave me a Rolex some 20 years ago. This has been the first watch that has tempted me in many, many years.
I read what I could about it. Information was scarce or even (as on this Amazon page) inaccurate. (No, this isn’t a woman’s model as the product information says). But features and appearance coupled with the Movado name led to make this choice. I received the watch yesterday and even such short acquaintance tells me the choice was a good one. Read more...

I like the look of the watch; it is sharp looking, and definitely a good value for the price. I had to give it 4 stars because of the following complaints :
-the seconds hand does not land exactly on the marker
-the rotating bezel is a little loose for my liking
-it seemed to scratch easily than what I expected
In spite of my complaints, it is a good value for a good brand, and I am happy with the purchase. I tend to be rough with watches and somewhat overly critical, so take my comments with a grain of salt. Based on what I wanted, and the current fashion trends (a lot of watches out there are really too big in diameter), this watch was a reasonable size, simple in design, and classy looking.
